During her time as a city councilwoman, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms wasn’t always sure which departments to reach out to for certain issues. When it came to the roadways, the Department of Public Works, Department of City Planning, Renew Atlanta and TSPLOST all handled different tasks.
Now, as of last month, Atlanta has its own Department of Transportation (DOT). Designed to be a one-stop agency for road repairs, long-term planning and funding, DOT will help to consolidate services as the city continues to meet the increasing demands of the growing population.
Here’s to a few less potholes (hopefully).

Less pot holes and road repairs are great. But issue is that you bring in the express lanes and it’s now more busy than the local roads. It’s just a way to collect funds for the state. I see no movement to go forward with a better transit line or better way to get to downtown from the outside.
