Run at least these four things by your parents before continuing with wedding plans:
1. Budget: Decide what you can afford, then politely ask if your parents want to contribute (if you want their help).
2. Location: Let them know what style you have in mind, then discuss pros/cons of different locations.
3. Guest list: Discuss your drafted list up front. There may be people they’d like to add.
4. Rehearsal dinner: Traditionally, the groom’s parents host, but this isn’t always the case. Clarify who is planning the dinner, and see if the groom’s parents are willing to pay.
