Jeanette Kastenberg’s Happy Clothes

“I want to create positive, happy clothes. It’s time to see people smiling,” said designer Jeanette Kastenberg in her artist profile for the Museum of Arts and Design.

This graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology accomplishes her mission with her label Jeanette, which includes colorful embroidered work with no shortage of sequins. She loves to artistically bling out everyday items like motorcycle and baseball jackets with intricate designs, frequently employing fun images like candy bars and characters from Looney Tunes.

This elegant size 10 brown silk shift dress is lined, made of 100 percent silk, with two front pockets.
