“Wildcat,” a new movie co-written and directed by Ethan Hawke, is a biopic of one of Georgia’s most famous authors, Flannery O’Connor.
The movie, starring Hawke’s daughter Maya, depicts the time Flannery moved back home from New York to Milledgeville to live with her mother, played by Laura Linney. There she struggles with lupus, which she was diagnosed with at 25, and also getting her first novel published. The film premiered at the 50th Telluride Film Festival in September and just opened in theaters.
Although the movie was filmed in Kentucky, you can tour O’Connor’s home, Andalusia Farm, in Milledgeville.
