When people hear the term “Southern food,” they often assume we’re just talking about Grandma’s home-cooked meals or soul food. On the contrary, there’s much more to Southern food, which is actually the product of a combination of cultures from around the world.
The South is truly a melting pot of influences and international flair and the Festival celebrates these international traditions, along with the more classic “Southern staples.” During Friday’s South X Seminar Series, attendees dive deeper into the cultures and cuisines of France, Mexico and more, and their impact on Southern culinary culture as we know it.
