We can eat local and shop local. Now, we can even read local, too, thanks to Hometown Reads.
Launched in 2016, Hometown Reads is a free online platform highlighting authors by geographical location, connecting local writers to local readers. With listings in 75 cities, from Atlanta to Wichita, the website creates a virtual community of book lovers and introduces them to 3,500 books written by 2,000 authors. Bibliophiles simply set up a digital bookshelf, select a city and start browsing.
Hometown Reads also has links to bookstores, libraries, community organizations, publishers and others who support the #ReadLocal movement.
