For more than 50 years, rose-colored swine have delighted holiday shoppers. The tradition began at the downtown Rich’s department store, where Priscilla and Percival carried riders on a monorail and an “I Rode the Pink Pig” sticker was coveted among Atlanta schoolchildren.
The pigs retired and moved to the Atlanta History Center in 1995. A train version of the Pink Pig opened at Lenox in 2003 where the attraction continues to delight children as they ride through a 1950s-themed tent, and hear a story about the original Pink Pig.
A portion of the $3 ticket benefits Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
