Andy Warhol started as a commercial illustrator and achieved worldwide fame — his name becoming synonomous with pop art. Four decades of his work will be on display at “Andy Warhol: Prints From the Collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer and His Family Foundation” at the High Museum of Art from June 3-September 3.
More than 250 prints from the collection are included, including those famous Campbell Soup cans and portraits of Chairman Mao and Mick Jagger. Other images include political posters from the 1970s and ad campaigns from the 1980s.
Warhol died in 1987 at the age of 58.
