Now in Atlanta: KONGO across the WATERS, the first American museum exhibition to deeply explore the legacy of Africa’s Kongo culture.
Featuring over 120 works spanning the late 15th century to present day, the exhibition includes masks, figures, carvings, paintings, jewelry and other artifacts never before exhibited in the U.S.
“We brought to Atlanta one of the world’s most remarkable exhibitions of African art,” said DeShawn Jenkins, managing director of Africa Atlanta 2014, the initiative of the Georgia Tech Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts responsible for bringing the exhibition on view through Sept. 21 at the Jimmy Carter Museum.
