After 11 years, the Center for Hard to Recycle Materials (CHaRM) is moving from Chosewood Park to a larger facility in Bankhead. CHaRM has been subleasing its current location since 2015. As the lease expires this year, CHaRM will move to the Bowen Homes redevelopment site and reopen in early 2027.
Operated by nonprofit Live Thrive, CHaRM collects materials not accepted by curbside recycling, helping keep difficult and potentially harmful waste out of local landfills and waterways. Accepted items include Styrofoam, paint, appliances, electronics, mattresses, household chemicals and hard-to-recycle plastics.
CHaRM operates two locations throughout the region, both available by appointment only.
