In a $300 million dollar deal that was recently revealed, Aphria, a Canadian cannabis company, announced plans to acquire Atlanta-based SweetWater Brewing Company, one of America’s largest independent craft breweries.

According to the announcement, Aphria believes the beer brand “closely aligns with a cannabis lifestyle.” SweetWater currently distributes across 27 states and Washington, D.C., and has a large portfolio of beers, including its 420 Strain G13 IPA. It also recently entered into the hard seltzer market and is well-known for its SweetWater 420 Fest music festival hosted in downtown Atlanta.

The deal is expected to be completed next month.
