A typical 50,000-square-foot higher-education building in the U.S. uses over $100,000 worth of energy each year. To help negate costs and become more environmentally conscious, Georgia Tech, with the help of HGOR’s design team, is working towards becoming an early adopter of an ecological water management plan to save it $24 million over 20 years.
A blackwater reclamation system will tie directly into the planned campus centerpiece, the “Eco-Commons,” a world-renowned performance landscape designed to ecologically manage water. The campus plans to reclaim up to 112 million gallons of wastewater per year.
