Having just returned from a 15-day trip in Europe, it isn’t the amazing castles, liter-sized beers, or world-class museums that have me wishing I could go back: it’s the crowdfunding laws.
As I was enjoying a pint of BrewDog Punk IPA in Edinburgh, I learned (via my coaster) that U.K. residents who particularly loved the ale could join the 14,500+ who had already purchased shares in the business online, called equity punk investors.
While more U.S. dollars are put into Kickstarter-style rewards-based crowdfunding projects than any other currency, Americans are still waiting on this style of federally approved equity-based crowdfunding.
