In November 1994, my father (spoiler alert: also The 100 Guy) published a column about a dozen trendy Atlanta coffee shops in the first issue of Atlanta 30306.

Here we are 20 years later and while just four of those coffee shops remain open, most of Atlanta still relies on the black elixir to get through the day.

Thanks to the Arist, now crowdfunding on Kickstarter, we no longer have to battle the crowds at Starbucks for our coffee concoction of choice: the smart coffee maker can brew over 100,000 different coffee recipes from the comfort of your kitchen counter.
