Children’s Museum of Atlanta awarded $2.5M grant from Lilly Endowment

The Children’s Museum of Atlanta (CMOA) recently received a $2.5 million grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. The grant is funded through the endowment’s “Fostering Character Through Children’s Museums” initiative, which aims to help children’s museums expand existing efforts to encourage the development of positive character traits among children and youth.

With the grant, the CMOA is planning for a multi-dimensional project that will empower children and their caregivers to develop key character strengths, including compassion, perseverance, neighborliness and critical thinking. The exhibit will be centered around a 22-foot-tall robot, built collaboratively by children and their caregivers to promote multisensory learning.
