Snap, crackle, pop them in your mouth

by The 100 Companies

September 18 is National Rice Krispy Treat Day, celebrating the classic born in 1939 when Kellogg’s employees Mildred Day and Malitta Jensen created the recipe for a Camp Fire Girls fundraiser.

The recipe couldn’t be simpler: melt 3 tablespoons of butter, stir in a 10-ounce bag of marshmallows until smooth, then fold in 6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal. Press into a greased pan, cool and cut.

Want to level up? Try mixing in peanut butter, drizzling with chocolate or in tossing in M&Ms for a colorful twist. Add sophistication with NYT’s recipe with black sesame seeds. Snap, crackle, yum!
