Film Fatales Fosters Female Filmmakers

by

Film Fatales was started in New York in 2013 by filmmaker Leah Meyerhoff while reaching out to other female filmmakers during pre-production on her film I Believe in Unicorns.

The grassroots program is now in over two dozen cities worldwide, including Atlanta. The group meets monthly to mentor, share resources and collaborate on each other’s creative endeavors. With a diverse mix of ethnicity, ages and members of the LGBTQ community, Film Fatales is helping to change the filmmaking landscape.

Along with other supportive programs such as New Mavericks and Wifta, the female filmmaking community in Atlanta is tight knit.
