Stay in the historic home where Burr escaped after that famous duel

by The 100 Companies

After firing that fatal shot at his rival Alexander Hamilton, Aaron Burr escaped arrest by fleeing to St. Mary’s, Georgia, where he stayed with Major Clark in the Archibald Clark house.

Now guests can bed down for the night in the 220-year-old historic home, available to rent on VRBO. The home, which has 3 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, is owned by Rebecca and R. Keegan Federal, Jr., who renamed it The Federal Quarters.

Guests enjoy complimentary use of two bicycles, a golf cart and an antique Model A Ford convertible. They can also charter a cruise on the owners’ boat.
