As a travel editor, I get press releases on new travel apps and websites daily. However, Trivago is the real deal.

This hotel search site compares prices on more than 700,000 hotels from 200 websites — the same ones you probably already search, like Priceline, hotels.com and Expedia. It’s the world’s largest hotel search and is #1 in Europe.

Based in Germany, Trivago is now looking for users in the U.S., starting with a TV commercial that has drawn unfavorable comments for the disheveled-looking actor. But the site is easy to use, well-designed and has earned a place on my iPhone.
