The holidays are filled with celebration, but can also bring unexpected hazards for pets.
Seasonal foods like chocolate, xylitol-sweetened treats and leftover bones should be kept well out of reach. Festive décor can pose risks, too – tinsel, string lights and unstable trees may tempt curious cats and dogs. Create a quiet space for pets to retreat from guests and loud gatherings, and be mindful during travel, using secure carriers or harnesses. Lastly, ensure identification tags and microchip information are up to date in case pets slip out during the seasonal bustle.
