New exhibit transports visitors to Sistine Chapel from Atlanta

Imagine taking a walk through one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements without ever actually leaving Atlanta. Thanks to “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition,” a touring exhibition headed to the Westside Cultural Arts Center, that is now a possibility.

Every Thursday-Sunday from Feb. 13-May 23, visitors are immersed in 34 reproductions, including “The Creation of Adam” and “The Last Judgement,” up close and personal (a distance impossible to achieve in-person at the Sistine Chapel).

With special expertise and care, the ceiling paintings have been reproduced using state-of-the-art technology mostly in original sizes allowing observation of all the intricate details.
