If you haven’t seen the war epic “1917” yet, chances are you’ve at least heard rumblings. Having gone into wide release just a week ago, the film had already received Golden Globes and Critics’ Choice wins, along with 10 Oscar nominations.
Based on a true story from director Sam Mendes’ grandfather, “1917” follows two World War I British soldiers sent to deliver a message that will save 1,600 at-risk lives, including one of the soldier’s brothers.
Ambitious, beautiful, dangerous, tense, visceral, heart-breaking, “1917” gives all the feels and will certainly go down as one of the best. Go see it!
