Georgia’s Principal of the Year and National Principal of the Year Finalist Stephanie Johnson works hard to build up students at Maynard H. Jackson High School every day. But she recently took on a different sort of building project.
Johnson spent a week alongside other principals and educators building an elementary school in Constanza, Dominican Republic, as part of Lifetouch Memory Mission.
In addition to mixing concrete and laying bricks, Johnson and her team toured classrooms and met with students and families. “Every child deserves to learn in a school building. I’m proud we were able to help,” Johnson said.
