What’s Going on with Top Gear?

by

The BBC’s Top Gear is less a mere motoring show than a worldwide phenomenon. After the Beeb sacked lead host Jeremy Clarkson for punching his producer last year, 350 million viewers eagerly await his return.

Retaining rights to Top Gear, BBC has hired new hosts: British radio legend Chris Evans, German racing champion Sabine Schmitz and actor Matt LeBlanc. Meanwhile, Amazon has scooped up former hosts Clarkson, Hammond and May, who have been filming a new show with 10 times the budget and presumably fewer restrictions than BBC.

Christmas comes early for car-lovers when both shows air this summer.
