CBS This Morning featured Atlanta law firm Cash, Krugler & Fredericks’ partner Andy Cash on Monday to educate viewers about residential elevators’ safety hazards. The segment highlighted one of Cash, Krugler & Fredericks’ clients, the Nelson family, and their heartbreaking story about their son Jordan who suffered catastrophic brain injury caused by an elevator accident in a rental home last Thanksgiving.
Home elevators typically don’t have the same safety requirements as commercial elevators, so The Safety Institute and Cash, Krugler & Fredericks filed a petition to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to initiate mandatory rulemaking to establish safety standards.
