Following the success of the recent Atlanta BeltLine, Grant Park and Decatur Lantern Parades, Sandy Springs will host its inaugural Lantern Parade next month.
The parade of colorful lanterns takes place on June 18 – starting at North Springs United Methodist Church and ending over a mile down the hill at Morgan Falls Overlook Park. At 9:30PM, the Chattahoochee River will be lit with the 25-foot albino alligator lantern Alice, along with illuminated turtles and lilies. Performers and live music will accompany the river light display.
Lantern-making workshops will be held June 7-11. Info and sign up.
