Governor Kemp announces teacher pay raises

by The 100 Companies

On Jan. 25, Governor Brian Kemp delivered his State of the State address, during which he promised an additional pay raise for Georgia’s state and university employees and public school teachers on top of pay raises given out during his first term. According to the proposal, $2,000 raises will be received during the next budget year.

“In total, we will have given hardworking educators a $7,000 pay raise in just five years,” Kemp said. “No other General Assembly or governor will have raised teacher pay by so much, so quickly, in state history.”

Governor Kemp’s budget recommendations details available online.
