If you ever longed to live in the time of eternally wise, suit-clad dads, cookie-making, subservient moms who vacuumed in pumps and kids who obeyed their parents, get a peak at that retro lifestyle in “Maple and Vine,” which opened this week at Actor’s Express.
Written by Jordan Harrison, the play is about a tightly wound Manhattan couple that explores an alternative lifestyle, but not the kind you think. They drop out of modern society to live in a small community of 1950s reenactors. Runs through April 20, 2014. Tickets: $26 to $45. Pictured are Michael Sung-Ho and Kate Donadio.
