After more than two decades at the helm, A.J. Robinson announced he will step down as president and CEO of Central Atlanta Progress later this year.
Known for his iconic hats and fierce advocacy, Robinson helped shape Downtown Atlanta’s modern revitalization, navigating challenges while spurring major economic investments. A dedicated search committee is actively seeking his successor, aiming to transition leadership by the fall.
While leaving his post, Robinson will not abandon Downtown. He plans to transition into the role of board chair for the affiliated Atlanta Downtown Improvement District, continuing to guide the city before the World Cup.
