City of Refuge breaks ground on major transformation center in Atlanta

by The 100 Companies

The local nonprofit City of Refuge has begun construction on a 38,000-square-foot Transformation Center on Atlanta’s Westside, near its main campus. Located at 1343 Joseph E. Boone Blvd., the three-story facility will provide affordable housing and supportive services aimed at empowering local individuals and families.

The center will feature a medical and mental health clinic, grocery store and credit union and offer classes on financial literacy, parenting, nutrition and homebuying. An Entrepreneurship Hub will support aspiring business owners with training and resources.

The $15.2 million initiative, expected to open in fall 2025, aligns with Mayor Andre Dickens’ affordable housing goals.
