For more than 125 years, Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) has “Covered Dixie like the Dew.” Our hometown newspaper has been reshaped by technology to survive the changes in media over the years, though sometimes at the expense of legacy readers and staff.
Kevin Riley, editor-in-chief, shares how they survived the decline of ad revenue while enjoying its highest readership, thanks to listening to readers and digital platforms alongside the traditional paper.
“Our focus is to reflect what people want from us,” says Riley. “Our job is to help our readers figure out what they think about subjects, not what we think.”
