Iain Bluett helps eventgoers save money

After playing in and managing bands, Britain-born Iain Bluett foresaw a potential downfall of the ticket industry for consumers and companies alike – costly service fees.

In 2004, with partner Jamie Dwyer, he founded the Atlanta-based independent ticketing system Ticket Alternative to provide lower fees, followed by Freshtix, a DIY ticket product, in 2011. Today, the companies provide ticketing options for thousands of festivals, events and venues nationwide.

An eight-time honoree of the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in America, the company is on track to sell more than 1 million tickets yearly by 2020.
