The Georgia Humanities Council is teaming up with Chuck Leavell and members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to bring the Georgia Roots Music Festival to the Woodruff Arts Center on Jan. 18.
This free event celebrates the many genres that make up our state’s rich musical history, from Immigrant Roots to Bluegrass to Protest Songs to R&B and Soul. Lineup includes AJ Ghent, who has played with everyone from the Allman Brothers to Zac Brown; masters of the ring shout the McIntosh County Shouters; and Georgia-native bluegrass band, the Skillet Lickers.
Tickets can be reserved on the festival website, www.garoots.org.
