Leadership changes mark a new era for Georgia’s top universities

by The 100 Companies

Georgia’s higher education landscape is undergoing a major leadership transition with changes at two of the state’s most influential institutions.

Renowned roboticist and artificial intelligence expert Dr. Ayanna Howard has been named the 12th president of Spelman College, bringing experience from The Ohio State University, NASA and Georgia Tech to the role. At Georgia Tech, President Ángel Cabrera announced he will step down in November to become president and CEO of the Aspen Institute after leading the university since 2019.

Together, the appointments mark a pivotal moment for two iconic Atlanta institutions shaping the future of education, innovation and workforce development.
