A wedding series: Things to know before dress shopping

Finding “the” dress is probably the most exciting part of wedding planning. Obsessively looking at Pinterest and browsing bridal magazines can provide some great ideas. However, there are still several things to keep in mind before heading out.

– Focus on finding a venue first, then worry about the dress.

– When first trying on dresses, schedule appointments at various locations to experience different stores and consultants.

– Come with dress ideas, but try on all styles during the first few trips (this ultimately led me to “the one”).

– Don’t be disappointed if the dress you love isn’t what you thought you wanted.
