I recently invested in backyard landscaping, including an edible area. It has three large beds to plant, a cistern to collect water, blueberry bushes, a fig tree and an area for herbs.
Growing up, we had a garden with tomatoes, zucchini, squash and more each summer. I loved working with my mom, going out to pick produce and using it for supper that night. It brought me so much joy.
I’ve wanted to have a garden for years but never made time. As we move into fall, I am excited to connect with the earth and plant my first crops.
