Infiniti’s opulent seven-seater feels more uHaul than car. Piloting a QX80 you feel titanic, indestructible and able to haul anything; perhaps that’s why my dad drives one.
At a staggering 17.5 feet in length, the QX80 is double the length of a Smart Car and 6” longer than an Escalade. Its mammoth proportions come with obvious drawbacks; the QX80 chugs gas like a “Mad Max” film set and it navigates a parking deck with the grace of a drunken sumo wrestler finding his airplane seat.
Still, the mammoth QX80 is comfortable, quiet and more affordable than its rivals.
