After heavily investing in a 2015 refresh, Chrysler is abruptly axing its affordable midsized sedan, the 200. Was it a failure? Not at all – in fact, it’s a leap forward from its humdrum predecessor.
The Detroit giant has simply shifted resources to amplifying Jeep production. It’s a shame, because the 200 was just starting to get good. The blingy 300’s little brother compensates for a lack of agile road behavior with impressive interior aesthetics, a good ride and a generous technology suite.
While Honda and Toyota fight tooth and nail for segment domination, Chrysler leaves behind an option worth considering.
