The Hunger Walk/Run started in 1984, a “fun run” and 5K that was an effort to raise awareness and funds for local hunger relief. A project of the Atlanta Community Food Bank, the Hunger Walk/Run celebrates its 30th anniversary this year on March 9.
Registration fees and donations will benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank and five other local nonprofits with hunger relief programs. The “family-friendly atmosphere” at Turner Field’s Green Lot will include live entertainment, food trucks, kid-zone activities, sponsor tents and more.
Last year, 15,000 people participated and raised $630,000 for local hunger relief. To register visit here.
