Starbucks union documentary debuts at ATLFF

by The 100 Companies

The film “Baristas vs Billionaires,” about the rise and struggles of Starbucks Workers United against the global corporation, premieres at the 50th Annual Atlanta Film Festival on April 28.

Narrated by Susan Sarandon and directed by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Mark Mori, Alec Baldwin served as a contributing producer. Mori’s first film, “Building Bombs,” opened the 1989 festival, and its 4K restoration will also be shown as a legacy screening.

Mori described the event as a homecoming, noting the personal significance of returning to Atlanta – where he previously worked as a union steelworker – to share the baristas’ story while revisiting his first documentary.
