History-making principal ballerina to speak at TEDNext Atlanta conference

by The 100 Companies

Trailblazing ballerina Misty Copeland has been announced as a featured speaker at TEDNext in Atlanta on Nov. 9-11. Copeland made headlines in 2015 when she became the first Black principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre.

At TEDNext, Copeland will deliver an opening-session talk and receive the inaugural TEDWomen Trailblazer Award. The conference, focused on personal growth and storytelling, will also feature speakers like Jermaine Dupri; Sanjay Gupta, an Academy Award-winning costume designer; and leading experts in AI and wellness.

This marks a new chapter for Copeland’s career, as she officially retired recently from the American Ballet Theatre on Oct. 22.
