Nestled in Grant Park, amidst the busy city, Oakland Cemetery quietly sits holding many forgotten stories. Each year, Historic Oakland Foundation brings the peaceful haven to life during its Illumine event.
Held May 9-12 as the sun goes down, Illumine is an interactive event with light and art by local artists and designers. With the breathtaking lights of the Atlanta skyline as a backdrop, wander throughout the cemetery while being educated, enlightened and inspired.
In addition to a mile-long light display, Illumine offers live music from The Shoal Creek Stranglers, craft cocktails and an Oakland pop-up shop.
