Friday, July 17 was a hard day for our city. Two civil rights movement icons, Reverend C.T. Vivian and Congressman John Lewis left this world on the same day.
I’ve always thought it was a badge of honor to live and work in #District5, Lewis’ home base. I’ve been obsessed with the downtown “Hero” mural of him and was fortunate to meet him through work. Their departures leave a huge void for us all, and for Atlanta – a bridge to history, sage words in turbulent times, a moral compass so desperately missing.
Incredible legacies that left an indelible mark.
