Buckhead Village goes solar

by katem

Buckhead Village is getting a sustainable upgrade.

Jamestown, the owner of the popular Buckhead shopping and dining destination, has partnered with Atlanta-based Cherry Street Energy to install a 227-panel solar array atop the Spanx Global Headquarters building. Construction is expected to begin in late September, with the system projected to generate more than 145,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and offset more than 90 metric tons of carbon emissions each year. The solar installation will support corporate and common-area operations throughout Buckhead Village.

The project is part of Jamestown’s broader sustainability efforts and its goal of reaching net-zero operational carbon by 2050.
