It’s remarkable how experiences align to reveal deeper meaning. For me, our nation’s 250th anniversary unfolded through many lenses. Visiting Philadelphia with my grandchildren renewed my appreciation of Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell – symbols of both unity and discord among our founders, echoing today’s political climate.
Reading journalist Norah O’Donnell’s “We the Women” deepened my understanding of the pivotal, often overlooked contributions of women to our history. Finally, a moderated dialogue with author Walter Isaacson and founder of the Free Society Coalition Jay Lapeyre reinforced the enduring importance of civil discourse – asking questions, listening and learning from one another.
