We’ve all seen the Lexus “December to Remember” Sales Event commercials – and the SNL skit mocking them. But is there some truth to the idea that the holidays really are the best time to buy a car?
On paper, yes. Dealers are incentivized to meet quotas and clear inventory space by year’s end, so the average vehicle sells for 2% less in December than in June. The tradeoff is that you’ll have less selection to choose from.
Thankfully, you can save a lot more than 2% throughout the year if you take your time, do your research, cross-shop and negotiate.
