Social Media Post-Election

by

As election dust starts to settle, it’s time to see how social media may have influenced the presidential election.

Talkwalker found President-elect Donald Trump’s social media platforms ranked among the most influential sources in the final days, demonstrating the larger reach he had with the electorate. Trump’s campaign hashtag, #MAGA, had double the use on Twitter than Hillary Clinton’s #ImWithHer. His campaign generated 100 more tweets than Clintons in the final few days. Whether this helped or hurt him is undecided.

Come Election Day, Trump’s voters were 76% more vocal on social media about their support over Clinton’s 24%.
