Flight cancellations, unexpected turbulence, traffic jams on the highway — so many things can cause us stress when we travel. My number one way to deal with the stress of travel is to picture my unhappy place.
This is the opposite of the picture-your-happy-place advice. I picture my most unhappy places, like being drilled at the dentist’ office, waiting at the DMV, getting a fatal error on my website or fighting claustrophobia during an MRI. I conjure up one of those images and give thanks I’m not there.
