Columbia Residential to Restore Abandoned Church in New Orleans

by admin

Columbia Residential and Providence Community Housing recently celebrated the groundbreaking of Sacred Heart at St. Bernard, a new mixed-income, multifamily community that is a redevelopment of the former Sacred Heart Church, constructed in 1955, in New Orleans.

“Columbia Residential has a strong connection to New Orleans. We look forward to building another successful development in this resilient city,” said Noel Khalil, founder and principal of Columbia Residential.

The church will be renovated and a new four-story building will be constructed, creating 52 rental units. Forty-four units will be reserved for residents making below 60% of the AMI.
