The Nature Conservancy, Trees Atlanta and Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve are teaming up on National Make A Difference Day for a day of improvements to the city’s threatened urban forests.
On Oct. 25, the Conservancy will hold three volunteer projects in DeKalb and Fulton Counties in honor of the nationwide volunteer effort:
• Mulching trails and cleaning up a section of the South River shoreline at Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve in Lithonia
• Planting trees and shrubs near a creek by Decatur’s Veterans’ Medical Center
• Planting a community forest, including fruit and nut trees, on English Avenue
